EBS was founded by Mrs. Nellie Constance in 1972. As a teaching leader for BSF, she recognized that women in small communities couldn't easily travel to major cities for Bible study. With the blessing of Wetherall Johnson (BSF's founder), she established Explorers Bible Study to provide the same quality of in-depth Bible study for people in rural areas and small towns.

EBS creates Bible studies to invite everyone to learn, love, and live out the truth found in God's Word. Our mission is simple, we bring people close to God through in-depth Bible study.

Explorer's Bible Study is not connected to a specific denomination. EBS is inter-denominational, meaning our groups include members from various denominational backgrounds.
